A message from
Toby Dixon
Chair of KatieFest 2026
Change is important. It comes from clubs,
communities and incredible people
working together.
I have been fortunate to be involved with Wallingford
Wolves pretty much since its inception in 2021. Our
own Wallingford Wolves training sessions are
unequivocally the highlight of my own week.
The energy our players bring to a Sunday morning is
infectious, I love seeing our people develop, smile,
support each other, enjoy both success and
participation in equal measure and am constantly in
awe of the way they challenge themselves and Þnd
ways to 'do more'. These are tough, tough people, an
inspiration to us all and for me, true life winners!
It is a privilege being part of the community that helps
all this to happen. Wallingford RFC who host today is a
true community-centred, family-oriented, open-hearted
club and the Wolves are now a big and credible
part of that family.
Every family has its members; Mums, Dads,
siblings, aunts and uncles, cousinsÉthose roles
are also an important part of our rugby family.
They give us a way to contribute, to understand
each other's motivations, wants and needs, and
ways of navigating the path to a shared success
we all want.
Katiefest 2026 today is celebration of this
important wolf pack, but also a wider pack of
other champions achieving similar rugbyfocused SEND heroics every week both across
the UK and of course beyond, with our visitors
today from Italy, to whom we offer a very warm
welcome!
IÕd personally like to take this opportunity to
thank and acknowledge one speciÞc family that
has done a lot to make this happen - the Peels:
Nicola, Ethan, John and, of course, Katie. ItÕs
not just the money theyÕve raised or the
enormous work that they do, itÕs in particular
the way theyÕve helped bring us together in
something thatÕs far bigger than all of us.
