SEND Tag - The Laws
1. Get the ball. Carry the ball in two hands
2. Run forwards with the ball. Try to get
closer to the other teamÕs try line
3. Tagging: the other team can take one
of your tags
4. Pass after being tagged. Stop running
and pass to a teammate (within 3
seconds)
Referees should use their discretion on
how strictly these laws are applied so the
games ßow and are fun!
¥ Katiefest will use the ÔSIX tackle turnover
ruleÕ
¥ Tackling/contact: the only contact allowed is
removing a Tag from the ball carrierÕs belt
¥ Tag: when a defender removes a Tag they
should shout ÔTagÕ, raise the Tag above their
head and return it to the ball carrier
¥ Passing: the ball carrier should pass the ball
within 3 seconds or 3 steps of being tagged
¥ Offside: the defending team must stay in front of the ball carrier by one metre after a
Tag to allow for the pass to be made
¥ Scoring: a try is scored by grounding the ball over the try line
